Autumn in Europe

View over Wroclaw on a misty morning

Autumn has always been my favorite season. The colors of the foliage, the crisp air, and the anticipation of the impending holidays all combine to make it a simply wonderful time of year.

Autumn is also an awesome time to travel. It’s far enough past summer and before Christmas to lie outside the ‘peak season’ so hotels and airfare are better prices, and crowds are almost non-existent. And, if this isn’t enough to entice you try this on for size: they start serving hot mulled wine when the weather gets crisp in Europe :). Anyone else as excited by that as I am?

I heart the smell of wine mulling in the air while I crunch leaves under my feet.

Putting aside the great deals and the peace and quiet one can enjoy while traveling in the Fall (for those of us Americans reading) there is the landscape: a patchwork of beautiful, warm, colors.

Here are some scenes from my recent Autumn travels in Europe (France, England, Czech Republic, and Poland).
